God had given unto the city his cordial, which cooled the throat and quelled all desire for rebellion. And in time peace and contentment returned to the city streets and to the plants and mills. And those labourers who had plotted against the Masters now laboured for their issue of the cordial.

And those who had ranted and raved became silent so they might have their issue, and in this way the tide of escapees from the city was stilled and there came a time of much growth and industry.
